WHAT DOES THIS ORGANIZATION DO

ACT for the Earth campaigns for peace, ecology and human rights. They stage protests for things they feel are injust. They also hold rallies to demonstrate there purpose, and get there point across to others.
Issues: Climate Change; Biotechnology; Animal Rights; Sustainability; Environmental Journalism; Ecology and Society; Environmental Education; Labour & Environment; Peace & Environment; Youth & Environment; First Nations; Human Rights; Globalization; Sustainable Communities/Community Development


WHY SHOULD PEOPLE CARE

People should care because the environment is our future, and if we destroy the environment we have no future. This organization includes individuals who are working towards issues others are too afriad to address. They fight bureaucracy to work for change. Ex. war destroys the environment, and people stop working together.

HOW LONG HAS THE ORGANIZATION BEEN ESTABLISHED

ACT for the Earth organization has been established since 1982, which you can read all about in ABOUT ACTFORTHEEARTH, under history.

WHY I CHOSE THIS ORGANIZATION

I had chosen this organization becuase after reading upon there ideas and many articles, there the people who start change, trying to engage others who want to, but are afraid. These activits have been many places around the world starting rallies and protests to get there point across. From climate change to animal rights, this organization works to change the world, and the environment we live in, because its our future, and were ruining whats left of it. When reading upon ACT for the Earths many articles I found myself intrigued by how intelligent and determined, and made me feel as if thats what I wanted to do. Enforcing an issue makes you feel like you have all the power, and especially when it's for a good cause, it feels good. Therefore I had right away been drawn to the interests of this organization, and stand with its beliefs.

PERSONAL STATEMENT ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO BE AN ENVIRONMENTAL CITIZEN

To me it means working to protect our earth and our quality of life, now and for future generations.

If we don't act now its our future were destorying , this is why we should be care about our environment and why it's so important to be an environmental citizen.
